The children and educators at Cardiff Tillys have been very busy with their science experiments today! The Echidna’s took part in the ‘Elephant’s Toothpaste’ experiment. This is where we use a catalyst such as yeast and warm water mixed together to quickly decompose Hydrogen Peroxide which results in an erupting foam! The Koala’s engaged in…
This week at Tillys Fern Bay we are experimenting and investigating all week as we explore National Science Week. This year the theme is protecting our oceans. For our first experiment this morning we discussed how plastics and styrofoam are dangerous to our oceans as the sea animals eat them. We hypothesised that starch packing…
NATIONAL SCIENCE WEEK The Lizard friends at Tillys Cardiff were involved in an experiment where they added pepper to water, then rubbed their finger in soap and touched the water. Waratah 2’s National Science Week Tuesday experiments Science Week mixed with our Colour Project gives us colour mixing. The children in the Sweet Pea room enjoyed the cause and effect of the droppers and food dye as well as the colour mixing that occurred using porous paper. Their developing Science minds was supported through questions…
Yesterday, Bolwarra’s Koala room had little scientists exploring germs! The educators helped the children to mix some solution in their hands and then used the UV light to see the ‘germs’ on their hands. After washing their hands clean of the solution, they investigated again to make sure they washed all the ‘germs’ away!
National Science Week with the Little Hippos and Panda Cubs at Rutherford The Little Hippos and Panda Cubs enjoyed an ice and salt experiment to keep in line with their current learning interest of ‘Under The Sea’. The children loved listening and watching the ice crackle and split!
Today the children from Tillys Abermain engaged in the “germs on bread” experiment. Hudson you enjoyed wiping your unwashed hands onto a piece of bread, Lincoln you enjoyed washing your hands with soap and water and wiping your hands on a piece of bread, Alby you enjoyed sanitising and wiping your hands on a piece…
Our Rutherford centre had a very busy Monday kicking off National Science Week! This morning, the Monkeys and Meerkats rooms were excited to start their day off with an experiment!
