Our Transition to School Program.
We believe in the importance of play-based learning and intentional teaching moments to allow all children to achieve the best outcome.
We offer a range of different activities each week and focus on a specific area from identifying their name to writing it, how to speak in front of a group through show and tell, developing fine motor skills to control a pencil and scissors, pre-writing and speech/language activities, number recognition through maths games and learning phonemic awareness of letters.
Our program has been developed in conjunction with feedback and input from our local Primary Schools to ensure a smooth and successful transition. We believe in building on positive experiences through community connections with reading groups, excursions and building positive partnerships to develop a transition to school program.
We include family information sessions with local primary schools, for parents and care givers to gain more knowledge on their local schools, meet with the teachers or principles and become prepared for the change.
