The children in the Dolphin room at Tillys Greta have started their year exploring their creative skills. To extend on the water painting from yesterday, educators and the children made their own paint brushes. We sourced our own resources from the back garden such as leaves and sticks. Before heading out we sat together and discussed what we would be doing and things we needed to look for. Once we sourced the resources we headed back inside where our friends sat with Educator Angela to start the painting experience. They each selected a stick or a leaf before assisting Angela to put the brushes together using pegs. We also used some Cotton wool and string.
During the experience of making and sourcing resources for our paintbrushes, the Dolphin children demonstrated their ability to problem solve and experiment using various resources. Our friends also demonstrated they are confident and capable learners displaying dispositions for learning such as creativity, curiosity and enthusiasm. Our friends used this experience to extend on their interests from yesterday when we did the water painting which was requested by some of our friends.
Next Thursday Educators in the Dolphin room will provide the children with an opportunity for some nature collaging.
