At our Rutherford centre, we have been celebrating our different cultures throughout the centre through Closing the Gap Day, Saint Patrick’s day and the Holi-Hindu Festival of Colours. We work towards closing the gap everyday in our centre by embedding Indigenous perspectives in our program, curriculum and environment. Saint Patrick’s Day celebrates Irish heritage and commemorates Saint Patrick, Ireland’s patron Saint. Holi-Hindu Festival of Colours symbolises the celebration of spring, friendship, family and the victory of good over evil. Each room has created different experiences to explore, learn and discover what each of these special days is about. By embedding these practices into our program we create a sense of belonging and inclusion to all who enter our centre and recognise each individuals culture and heritage.
