Today, Tuesday 4th August, is National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day. The theme for 2020 is “We are the Elders of Tomorrow, Hear our Voice”.
This is a day for everyone to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and traditions and the importance of children in the early years growing strong in culture and identity.
At Waratah 2, all rooms came to together at 11am to participate in the Acknowledgment of Country of the Awabakal People. Then the children worked together on raising the flags. Once the flags were raised, the children said together “We are the Elders of Tomorrow, Hear our Voice!”
