The children at Tillys Rutherford are celebrating NAIDOC week this week. This morning we were privileged to have one of our families come in and share their culture with us. Aimee told the children the story of Tiddalik the frog and passed around a photo of Tiddalik for the children to see. Mallom shared with us a variety of sounds on the didgeridoo, while Athea from our Lions room showed us some indigenous dance moves. The children and educators joined in with clapping sticks and danced along. It was a wonderful morning connecting and sharing culture and celebrating NAIDOC week.
