To celebrate NAIDOC week, Tillys Cardiff had a visit on Tuesday from Uncle Rod, an Aboriginal man in the Cardiff community. Uncle Rod brought along aniseed myrtle, lemon myrtle, Davidson plums, red cellar lime and finger lime for the children to smell and taste. The children said the food tasted sour, scrunching up their noses as they had a taste. Uncle Rod also brought in some items to show the children, including clapping sticks, boomerangs, hunting spears and a didgeridoo, explaining each item and how they are used. The children passed these items around, touching and feeling them.
