Maitland Show is on this weekend. One of the competitions that our Greta service loves being a part of is the Scarecrow Competition. This year the theme is, “Celebrating a Resilient Community”, although it was short notice our service has been able to come up with a wonderful idea in creating a living Scarecrow.
When reflecting on our past few years we have discovered that our environment has played a huge part in our learning but for ourselves and the community the environment has helped us to heal, explore and feel a sense of freedom from the confines of the four walls of our homes. Thus the living scarecrow was born, we have made the scarecrow child size to represent the children in our service and the wider community.
We invited our families along with the children of the service to help to add our plants to our scarecrow, as we continue to rebuild our connections to one another and our community.
