Road Safety Excursion – Preschoolers

Last week the Pelican and Seagull children from Tillys Fern Bay went on a walking excursion to our local park, where we enjoyed a picnic morning tea and a play on the play equipment.

Whilst on our walk, educators and children searched for different road signs as the Pelican children had been learning about occupations and had been particularly interested in Police Officers and how they help keep our roads safe.

Many of the children were not only able to spot the various signs but also tell their educators what the signs mean.

All the children practiced great road safety, as they listened to their educators’ instructions and carefully crossed roads and driveways safely. They had a great time on the play equipment in the park, participating in some risky play while also responding to educators’ questions including ‘Do you feel safe up there?’
