We are so proud of our diverse community here at Tillys Waratah 2. All this month we have been inviting educators and families in to share their cultural practises with the children in the service.
Today the Sweet Pea educators represented their culture by sharing traditional attire and traditional foods with the children in their room and across the rooms in the service. Educator Annie, brought in clothing from China that showcased traditional Chinese attire that originated over 2000 years ago in the Han dynasty.
Educator Rita also shared her Indonesian culture, through dress and Annie also shared her Chinese culture by cooking dumplings with both the Sweet Pea children and the preschool children. We are also looking forward to some other educators and families members who are planning to share their cultural practises through the rest of the month.
We are continuing to invite all families to share their cultural backgrounds with the children in our service this month and ongoing to instil the ‘Harmony day’ underlining principal that everyone is welcome!
