Cooks Meetings – Did You Know?
Did you know that behind every nutritious, delicious meal served at Tillys Play & Development Centres is a team of passionate, highly skilled cooks who regularly come together to share knowledge, ideas and best practice?
Throughout the year, Tillys holds regular cooks meetings, bringing our centre cooks and chefs together in one space. These meetings are an important part of how we ensure children across all Tillys centres receive meals that are not only tasty, but balanced, safe and developmentally appropriate.
More Than Just a Meeting
Our cooks meetings are a collaborative and supportive environment where our team can:
- Discuss early childhood nutrition and how it supports children’s growth, learning and wellbeing
- Review and refine menus, meal preparation and planning
- Share ideas for new recipes, seasonal meals and creative ways to introduce a variety of foods
- Talk through food safety, allergies and dietary requirements
- Ensure meals are prepared and cooked correctly and safely every time
Ongoing Training & Best Practice
In addition to collaboration, our cooks also have regular training opportunities during these meetings. This helps ensure they are always up to date with:
- Current policies and procedures
- Food safety standards and regulations
- Best practice in early childhood cooking and nutrition
By keeping our cooks informed and supported, we maintain consistency and quality across all our centres.
