Bolwarra Exploring Culture

The Echidna Room at Bolwarra Tillys have recently been discussing culture when an interest sparked within the children from Chinese New Year. From this, they extended on Indigenous culture, where our educator Nerida spoke about the new mat we had received and also all our new instruments. Nerida also spoke about the yarning circle and what it represents. Our educator Bridget then looked up what each instrument was called and where it came from. After researching, we soon discovered that a lot of the instruments were Balinese.
The Echidna Room educators would love if their families would offer some insight into their own culture and heritage in the goal of embedding this into their everyday routines and programs and helping to guide the children’s learning further.
