World Diabetes Day is a day close to our hearts in the Tiger Room at Tillys Rutherford. It is an opportunity for us to support one of our children and to help raise awareness and understanding within our community.
This year, the children were encouraged to show their support by wearing blue and proudly wearing a blue ribbon on their wrists—the blue circle being the global symbol for World Diabetes Day. One of our Tigers shared her special book, “You, Me and T1D,” a child-friendly story that explains what it means to live with Type 1 diabetes.
The children were also invited to design their own pump belts, sharing ideas and inspiration with a family who lovingly creates their own. It was a meaningful way for the group to learn, express creativity, and celebrate inclusion.
