Today our Butterfly room at Waratah 1 enjoyed another technique of painting. This time we explored ‘Free mess painting’. Educator Loris invited the children to do a painting and as the children were waiting for aprons and paint brushes, Educator Loris squirted a few colours of paint onto a piece of paper and then placed this inside of Ziplock bag and she used masking tape to stick it on the table.

The children explored this using different mediums to move the paint around the paper. They were able to investigate and observe the patterns which were made and the feel of the paint being pushed around through the bag under their finger tips.
