Today at Waratah 1, we proudly celebrated National Tree Day by planting a beautiful Native Guava tree in our outdoor learning environment.

A huge thank you to Bunnings Kotara for their generous donation and for supporting our children’s learning and connection with nature. Your contribution has helped create a lasting learning opportunity for our children.

Throughout the experience, the children shared their ideas about how we can care for our new tree, discussing the importance of watering it, giving it sunshine and helping it grow strong. They were also full of curiosity, wondering what native guava might taste like and eagerly sharing their predictions!

Experiences like these foster children’s understanding of sustainability, encourage respect for the natural environment and help them develop a sense of responsibility as they care for living things. They also strengthen our connection with the local community, showing children how working together can have a positive impact on our environment.
